Built in 1847, Plains Mill is a historic, water-powered grist mill located along the North Fork of the Shenandoah River in Timberville, Virginia.
In 2013, Plains Mill, LLC purchased the abandoned property to begin restoring this local landmark back into production. Plains Mill will offer a wide range of on-site tourist attractions including a craft distillery and tasting room, a private trout fishing stream, 19th century milling demonstrations, private event areas and a general store. Our mission is to provide a brand of goods inspired by the quality agriculture, rich history and undeniable beauty of the Shenandoah Valley, while preserving and protecting this historic property and the Plains Mill Spring.
Plains Mill is proudly listed on both the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places.
